Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan’s 3rd district, recently shared her activities and initiatives through a series of tweets. Her communications highlight ongoing legislative priorities and community engagement efforts.

On June 8, 2025, Scholten expressed her commitment to ensuring that West Michigan’s agriculture community is involved in the discussions surrounding the 2025 Farm Bill. She stated, “As Congress sorts through its priorities for the 2025 Farm Bill, I’m making sure that members of West Michigan’s agriculture community have a seat at the table. Great to meet with the National Grain and Feed Association to hear more about their important work.”

The following day, on June 9, she addressed concerns over budget cuts impacting education and workforce development in her podcast episode “Straight Talk With Scholten.” She remarked, “ICYMI: In this week’s episode of Straight Talk With Scholten, I peeled back the veil on what cuts are being made to the Committee on Education and Workforce. It’s going to be bad for our students and bad for our workforce.” The episode is available for viewing and subscription online.

Later that day, Scholten invited constituents to participate in an upcoming town hall meeting scheduled for June 16 as part of her summer series in West Michigan. She encouraged participation by saying, “Join us next Monday, June 16th for the first of our West Michigan summer town hall series! I’ll be answering your questions, talking about my work in Washington, and more.” Interested individuals were directed to RSVP online.

Hillary Scholten has served in Congress since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. Born in Grand Rapids in 1982, she holds a BA from Gordon College and a JD from the University of Maryland.
