Hillary Scholten, currently serving as the U.S. Congresswoman for Michigan’s 3rd district, has been actively engaging with her constituents and working on infrastructure improvements in West Michigan. Her recent social media activity highlights her commitment to local partnerships and federal advocacy.

On February 21, 2025, Scholten expressed her enthusiasm for connecting with local leaders such as East Grand Rapids Mayor Katie Favale. She emphasized the importance of deepening multilevel partnerships to benefit West Michiganders. “Always great to connect with local leaders such as East Grand Rapids Mayor Katie Favale to deepen our multilevel partnership and continue our work for West Michiganders.”

Later that day, Scholten announced a significant federal grant she helped secure for infrastructure development in Grand Rapids. The $25 million grant will fund the replacement of the East Beltline Bridge, a crucial thoroughfare used by over 50,000 vehicles daily. “The East Beltline Bridge in Grand Rapids – once a rural roadway – is now a major thoroughfare that over 50K vehicles traverse every day. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce a $25 million federal grant I helped secure that will help fund a much-needed replacement of the bridge…”

In another engagement on February 21, Scholten visited Cannon Township’s Acme Tire and Auto during her district tour focused on small businesses. She aimed to discuss how she can advocate for entrepreneurs at the federal level while visiting this long-standing institution established in 1953. “I’m traveling across the district this week to talk to small business owners about how I can continue advocating for entrepreneurs at the federal level. Today I’m in Cannon Township at Acme Tire and Auto — a West Michigan institution since 1953.”
