On Sunday, Feb. 9, former Catholic Central High School standout Sam Schmitt’s current college team, the Salem Tigers, lost 10-4 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the UNC Pembroke Braves.
The game took place at Sammy Cox Field. This was their third matchup against the Braves this season.
The Tigers’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at Frank Loria Memorial Field against Shepherd Rams.
These former City of Grand Rapids area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, March 2.
